Poésie Noire - Choosers - Lyrics

(lyrics by Marianne Valvekens, music by Jo Casters)

Whatever you choose
You'll always regret
Cause one is lost
And one is too little
And when there's nothing left to lose
You lose somebody
Who made the difference
Between being and living
You even lose yourself
In dreams and premonitions
Something to take off the edge
Reality can be so hard
In the middle of your heart
The manual is Japanese
Suicidal in the morning
It's your God given right
It suddenly hits you
Take what you can get
Choosers will be beggars
Anyway
It suddenly hits you
Just take what is left
Choosers will be beggars
Anyway
You feel like a machine
Malfunctions in abundance
Which way to turn
It's too late too late
And love is always watching
And writes you letters
But reading gives you headaches
So mostly you rush in
You're no saint
That's who you are
The rope around your neck
Is a little step for man
There's not much you can do
But change your tactics
Something that could have been
But never was
It suddenly hits you
Take what you can get
Choosers will be beggars
Anyway
It suddenly hits you
Just take what is left
Choosers will be beggars
Anyway
